Will your next boating trip cost you big $$$?

Dont let your boating activities be spoilt by incurring major costs when you need assisstance! Apply for Membership TODAY!
The "user pays" principle :

There would be very few of us who are not familiar with the above system. It is now part and parcel of our daily lifestyle and, like it or not, it is here to stay and will continue to expand into most areas where a service is provided.

Our duty is to provide modern, efficient and all weather rescue vessels to the boating public. The operating costs of such start from a minimum of $135.00 including GST per hour. Dependant on the nature of your problem, a bill of hundreds of dollars is now an unfortunate reality! Contrary to popular belief, rescue units are not fully funded by anybody and rely heavily on Member's fundraising to purchase the fuel, maintain and service the vessels and cover training costs for crewmembers.

Volunteer Marine Rescue Victoria Point now provides a scheme whereby, for a small yearly fee of $60.00 you receive a degree of free on-water assistance such as towing and battery starting. "Extras included in this scheme are personalised boating advice, radio and safety equipment checks, use of the Unit's hoses, telephone, marine charts, free radio monitoring watch on-water, launch & recovery assistance if needed and a cup of coffee! You will also be invited to attend courses on Navigation, Radio, Weather, Marine Radio and Safety on the Water etc.

Much and all as we would like to provide free assistance to those in need of a helping hand, the costs of providing such can no longer be covered from our ever-diminishing funds. No doubt you already have a similar vehicle subscription plans (Ie. RACQ) and it is therefore sensible to cover your boating activities the same way.

And remember we have towed back every type of vessel up to and including the newest, smartest and most supposedly reliable boat on the water.

"It can happen to you!"
Please give serious consideration to this matter and feel free to inquire at our Radio Room at Victoria Point on weekends for the conditions and benifits of this scheme or simply press the associated membership"Become a Member" button above for an online application form
